We had a slow start this morning because Dad lost all of our paperwork, but we got to the airport with time to spare and in high spirits.  Notice my high spirits:

We flew to New York...

Where we disembarked our flight...

The New York - Istanbul trip was extremely pleasant because the planes were fairly empty and we had television screens in the back of our seats with like 999 different movies and television shows included.  We also got the chance to pass over several countries on our way to Istanbul: Ireland, England, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria...

We finally landed in Istanbul and took a taxi to our hotel.  I'm currently writing this over a wonderful meal of just about the fanciest sandwich I have ever seen... yummm....

Time to do the tourist thing...

  1. Am enjoying this blog immensely! The pictures are stunning and the writing is both descriptive and entertaining. Wish I could be there to enjoy it with you but this is nearly as good! Look forward to new installments. P.S. Glad the paperwork was found!

Take good care and lots of love, Mom
