My Visit to Gent

On Monday, we visited Gent and walked around the city.  We got there around lunch, so the first thing we did was find a place to eat.  I ate lasanga and my dad ate a traditional dish from Gent that consists of chicken in soup:

After lunch, we went on a boat tour of the Gent river.  My dad took some pictures:

Narrowest house in Gent

After the boat tour, I had a waffle, which was delicious:

Then we visited the Gent belfry and took some pictures of the bell and of Gent:

Next we went to Saint Bavo's Cathedral, where we weren't allowed to take pictures.  Here are some of the pictures we took:

Next we visited the Gent music academy.  It was in a nice building and people were playing very nice music.

Before we left (our parking pass had expired) we took a few more pictures around Gent:

After we finished in Gent, we drove home (despite massive traffic) and made it back in time for dinner.

  2. Ghent looks like Antwerp from the pictures but probably Ghentians and Antwerpians would not like to say their cities look similar. Glad you are having such a good time. Have you considered becoming a tour guide as a career move??
